Sāṅkhyattvakaumudī

An incomplete text on Sāṃkhya by Vācaspati Miśra (1450 – 1480) of Mithilā. The manuscript covers kārikā 2 to kārikā 12, and kārikā 13 to the end. It has 32 folios (4–13, 15–36).




Tarkasaṃgrahadīpikā

It is a commentary on Tarkasaṃgraha, a concise introduction to Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika written by Annaṃbhaṭṭa in 1623, showing how the universe can be analyzed through natural language.




Kaṇādasūtravṛtti

This text is a commentary on Śaṃkara Miśra’s Vaiśeṣikasūtropaskāra. The author was professor of Hindu philosophy in the Calcutta Sanskrit College in the mid-19th century and wrote at the instance of Babu Śivanārāyaṇaghoṣa.




Śabdakaustubha

An incomplete text on Vyākaraṇa by Bhaṭṭoji Dīkṣita. Folios have been tentatively organised according to the original abbreviated title of which there are two variations, śabda and śa. su. One folio has su rā. ra. It differs completely in size and hand, and probably comes from a different work, even though it carries a number added from one of the systems used for the other folios.




Śāradātilakatantra

An incomplete tantric text by Lakṣmaṇadeśika that describes śabdabrahman and the creation of the empirical world. This manuscript goes up to Verse 54 of the 18th chapter.




Sarvadarśanasaṁgraha

An incomplete text on Darśana by Mādhvācārya (mid-14th century). The manuscript covers Rāmānujadarśana upto Raseśvaradarśana.

Yājñavalkyasmṛti

This is written by Yājñavalkya, an important dharmaśāstrakāra in ancient India (4th to 5th century CE). Of its three parts, the manuscript contains the second and third, vyavahārakhaṇḍa and prāyaścittakhaṇḍa, along with Mitākṣarā, the commentary by Vijñāneśvara (1070 c. –1100 c.)




Śuddhi Viveka

EAP1023/26/6 Language : Sanskrit Scripts : Devanagari


A dharmaśāstra text by Rudradhara Upādhyāya, active 1425‒1460, son of Lakṣmīdhara and younger brother and disciple of Haladhara. Divided into three pariccheda-s, it addresses topics like: 'purification from impurity on birth and death, the persons liable to undergo purifications, the meaning of the word putra, purification of the body and of various substances when polluted, purification of cooked food and water, and women in their menses' (Kane 1975). This manuscript was copied in Kathmandu.




Raghuvaṃśa

EAP1023/26/7 Language : Sanskrit Scripts : Devanagari


This Sanskrit mahākāvya (‘epic poem’) by Kālidāsa tells the story of several generations of the descendants of Raghu, ancestor of Rāma (‘vaṃśa’ means lineage). This manuscript contains all 19 cantos.

Viṣṇu Sahasranāma Stotra

Contains the 1,000 names of Viṣṇu as given in the Padmapurāṇa VI:71.77–331 (Uttarakhaṇḍa, Umā-Maheśvara Saṃvāda). The last folio (No. 37) is missing.
