Aitareyopaniṣad

Aitareya upaniṣad which is a part of the Aitareya āraṇyaka. It is traditionally associated with the Ṛgveda saṃhita. The text explores the nature of the Ātman (self) and it's connection to the Paramātmā (universal self). The text is included in the ten upaniṣads on which the original Śaṅkarācāryas bhāṣya is available making it an authentic Vedic upaniṣad not medieval. It is an important text for the Advaita(non-dualistic) Vedānta philosophical tradition. The Aitareya upaniṣad is divided into three adhyāyas (chapters) which is further divided into khanḍas (Sub-chapters) which are the 4th, 5th & 6th chapters of the 2nd Āraṇyaka (book) of the Aitareya Āraṇyaka. [1](1)(f.1A-2B), (2)(f.2B-3A), (3)(f.3A-4B); [2](f.4B-5B); [3](5B-6A). There is a Śāntipāṭha in the end (f.6A). There is an invocation to various vedic deities in the begining (f.1A) and end (f.6A-7A) of the text. This Ms. is written in 7 lines per folio. Cover and back page are blank. Title present in colophon (f. 6A). There are 2 double red vertical margins on each side of the folio. Mistakes are covered with yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. Significant syllables and words rubbed with orange powder for highlighting. There are metric marks present in red.




Aitareyāraṇyaka Naraśānti

Aitareyāraṇyaka Naraśānti is an āraṇyaka text which are deeper spiritual interpretations of the Vedic texts composed by Ṛṣis (sages) in the wilderness of the forest. The Aitareyāraṇyaka is traditionaly associated to be based on the Aitareya brāhmaṇa and the Ṛgveda. Naraśānti is a section in the text which describes the man-slaying ritual from the perspective of deeper philosophy of self-sacrifice and transformation connected to an individuals spiritual journey rather than actual ritualistic killing of a person. This Ms. is written in 5-7 lines per folio. Title present in colophon (f. 2A). Back page contains title. Mistakes are blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins. The Ms. is dated saṃvat 1893 in (f. 2A).

Aitareyopaniṣadbhāṣya is a commentary by Śaṅkarācārya on the Aitareyopaniṣad. It is an upaniṣad which is a part of the Aitareya āraṇyaka. It is traditionally associated with the Ṛgveda saṃhita. The text explores the nature of the Ātman (self) and it's connection to the Paramātmā (universal self). It is an important text for the Advaita(non-dualistic) Vedānta philosophical tradition. The Aitareya upaniṣad is divided into three adhyāyas (chapters) which are the 4th, 5th & 6th chapters of the 2nd Āraṇyaka (book) out of the three in Aitareya Āraṇyaka. This Ms. is written in 8-9 lines per folio. Title present in colophon (f. 18B). Title also present in marginal abbreviations. There are 2 double vertical margins present in folio. Ajaghaṭadhanvīkārya

Ajaghaṭadhanvīkārya is a text on Hindu astrology and devination which is used in inquiring about thefts, famly ties and other possible issues in the future. This Ms. is written in 4-5 lines per folio. Title present in incipit (f.2A). Mistakes are etched out. There is a hole in the middle left side of each leaf. A string runs through the entire manuscript for binding.




Ajapāgāyatrīmantra

Ajapāgāyatrīmantra is a text which descriibes meditation through breathing exercises prāṇāyāma which involves observing the natural rhythm of the breath. The practice is believed to facilitate self realization and connect with the universal self. This Ms. is written in 10-11 lines per folio. Title present in the third line of text (f. 1A). Alternate title Ajapājapa present in margin on bottom left side (f. 1B). One mistake is blacked out. The Ms. is dated 13 śuklapakṣa of Āśvīna, śaka 1769 (Friday, October 22, 1847) in (f. 1B) along with the scribe Divākara Vajhe (f. 1B).




Ajapāstotra

Ajapāstotra is a devotional text dedicated to the supreme deities Śiva and Śakti. Though it is attributed to Śaṅkarācārya the text may belongs to some other tradition like Yoga or Tantrism. This Ms. is written in 6-7 lines per folio. Cover page contains title. Title also present in colophon (f.3B). There are triple red vertical margins on each side of the folio. Mistakes are covered in yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins.




Ajñānabodhinī

Ajñānabodhinī is a treatise on Vedānta school of Hindu philosophy. The text is present as a dialogue between the master and his student. The text is basically like a Prakaraṇa grantha it explains concepts of Vedānta in a fouundational systematic approach. This Ms. lacks a Begining. This Ms. is written in 12-13 lines per folio. Cover page is blank. Title is present in colophon (f. 16B). There are triple black vertical margins on each side of the folio. Mistakes are covered in yellow or blacked out. Some corrections and additions in the margins.




Ākhyātaviveka

Akṣaracintāmaṇi

Akulāgama mahātantra yogasārasamuccaya ?

Akulāgama mahātantra yogasārasamuccaya is a part of Akulāgamatantra an unknown Yogic text. The text descriibes Haṭha Yoga from the perspoctive of the Yogic tradition of Nātha Sampradāya the one founded by Matsyendranātha. It is written in dialogue format between supreme deity Śiva and his consort Pārvati discussing various topics on Yoga. This Ms. is written 11-13 lines per folio. Cover page is written in Nepali attributing to ownership of the Ms. to a minor Nepali king named Śrī 3 Bīr Mardana. Back page is blank. Title is present in colophon (f. 22B). There are double black vertical margins on each side of the folio. There are no Pūrna Virāma (full stops) throughout the text. Mistake are blaecked out. Significant syllables and words rubbed with orange powder for highlighting. Folio 19 is damaged from the right hand side.
