He was born in Adayapalam, and composed over hundred books on Advaitavedānta, Mīmāṃsā, Śaiva theology, literary theory, grammar, and the study of the epics. This manuscript concludes towards the end of the first chapter, on Abhidhā; the chapters on Lakṣaṇ and Vyakti are missing. The title is given on the first folio, and abbreviated in the upper left-hand corner.
