Vedaparibhāṣāsūtra

A complete text of Keśavarāma Daivajña’s vyākhyā (commentary) on a śikṣā text explaining Vedic phonology according to the Mādhyandinīśākhā of the Śuklayajurveda. The colophon refers to ‘Vedaparibhāṣāṅkasūtraṇī saṭippaṇī’, which may denote the nine sūtra-s (‘paribhāṣāṅkasūtra’), which are sometimes attributed to Kātyāyana, and Keśavarāma’s commentary and kārikā-s.

Also known as Saptaśatīcaṇḍī, Durgāsaptasatī, and Caṇḍī Pāṭha, this is from the Mārkaṇḍeyapurāṇa (adhyāya-s 81–93), and describes the victory of Durga over Mahiṣāsura. This manuscript contains some mantras and descriptions of rituals in the begininning: Karanyāsa, Saptaśatijapapūjāvidhāna, Devīkavaca by Hariharabrahma, Āvāhana, Bhagavatīkīlaka, followed by Adhyāya-s 81–93 from the Mārkaṇḍeyapurāṇa, followed by the Devīsūkta, Prādhānikarahasya, Vaikṛtikarahasya, Murttirahasya and Saptaśatīkāpāṭha.
